Ildikó Raimondi convinced her role as Alice Ford not only with charm and playfulness, but each Cantilena and each tone spun even more tenderly, was her goal and it completely paid off. Too bad that she was used so seldom. Her natural and additionally well-studied Italian was not appreciated in this house.

Accompanied by Canadian pianist Francis Perron, the Austrian soprano was met with thunderous applause from the numerous audience members. Most inspiring about her interpretation was the ability to merge the music and the text, while each tone was like a small work of art.
